Teacher of the Month (October 2017)
Mr. Moe was selected because he is a very blunt and honest person and it comes from a form of tough love. He only wants the best from his students and he will only accept the best.
Mr. Moe's guidance is what motivates students to be eager to learn and achieve.† Mr. Moe is currently the advisor for the Class of 2020. He is one of the only teachers that takes time out everyday after school to get to know his students. The students of Cicely L. Tyson appreciate you and thank you . Congratulations!

Mr. Treffinger


Mr. Treffinger graduated form Northeastern University in Boston and received his teaching credentials from Montclair State University. †He entered the teaching profession after 23 years in advertising and has been happy every day since! †Mr. Treffinger considers entering teaching a great move. †He appreciates the energy and talent of our students. †He attends and has fun at all of Tyson students' performances.†



Teacher of the Month (January 2017)
Mr. Petty

Mr. Petty has been teaching for 27 years. †He attended Rutgers' University where he earned both his master's and doctorate degrees, as well as Montclair State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Music Education and his Administrative Certification. †He loves the students because they are open to challenges and are very creative. †He also loves working with his professional colleagues in the performing arts department.



Teacher of the Month (December 2016)
Ms.†Ciesla

Ms. Ciesl​a was born and raised in Chicago. †She came east because she was recruited to play sports at Caldwell University. †She received a BA in English/Education at Caldwell, and played basketball and volleyball. †Ms. Ciesla's been at Tyson for eight years, starting as a student teacher. †She believes that she learns something new each day from her students.

Ms. Strojan

Ms. Strojan attended Middlesex County College where she studied Liberal Arts Education and Kean University where she received a degree in Earth Science/Education. †She is a self-proclaimed "geek" who loves science and sharing her passion with her students and loves that her students share their passion for the arts with her. †She has been at Tyson for six years.
